Thank you for visiting our web site. Our rural library is located in the beautiful Clearwater Backcountry of Northern Idaho along the Gold Rush Historic Byway Highway 11. Our area is rich in history – Pierce was the first town established in Idaho as a result of the Idaho Gold Rush of the 1860’s. In addition to traditional library services, our library has several showcases full of local historic artifacts. Included in our collection are Chinese artifacts left from when the Chinese were here mining for gold in the late 1800’s.
Besides history, our area offers plenty of activities for the outdoor enthusiast, including miles of ATV trails, hunting, fishing, Nordic skiing/Alpine skiing, groomed snowmobile trails, hiking, gold panning and photography. So, if you ever get the chance to visit our scenic area, please stop by and visit us.
Best wishes,
Kim Ward, Director
